While on assignment in Kazakhstan for AES Katzenstein visited a dance school in the remote southern city of Shymkent, located about 80 miles north of Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. The young dancers were decked out in their finest traditional costumes, in the middle of rehearsals for the annual school recital.
