swimming pool – St. Malo, Brittany France

Nickol spent a number of summers photography in the province of Brittany in western France. The tides in the town of St. Malo, on the north coast, are famous for their extreme length. This salt water pool located just outside the old cities fortified walls fills up twice a day at high tide when it is completely submerged by the channel waters. At low tide locals and tourists enjoy the bathing and scenery around them.
